I have read and heard that you can use a wii remote with your PC. I would like to know how? I have also heard you do it by using bluetooth. I have a bluetooth usb adapter for my PC right now. It is a Kensington model# 33348. I use it to connect my mobile phone to my PC. Could I also use this to hook up my wii remote and how would I do it? If I can’t then how would I be able to do this?
Thank you in advance and I really appreciate it!
fps is right… all though you might need a wifi connection or a bluetooth connector. i think it’s the bluetooth though.
I wanted to buy a tv tuner in the philippines however I am not sure if the below tv tuner specifications will work in the Philippines.
# ATSC Digital Terrestrial TV Receiving
# NTSC Analog Terrestrial / CATV Receiving
# Analog AV Capture
# USB Bus Power Gain
# IR Remote Controller Support
For Analog TV yes, it will work (the NTSC Part)
For Digital TV, most likely Philippines is moving to use DVB, so long term it will be obsolete, but there is plenty of time!!
I have a Remote Keyboard for Media Center PC i also have the Remote Control and receiver. From time to time if i press a button on either it will repeat.
For example if im typing as i type on letter it will repeat even if i press the key once like ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttthis.
Also when i use the remote or keyboard to FF through a recorded show it will go all the way to the end because of the repeating nature.
The only thing i can do to solve this is to unplug the USB receiver from teh computer and plug it back in again but eventually the problem arises again.
I am running windows vista premium and it appears its not necessary to download drivers to use this equipment.
Thanks for your help
Try downloading drivers from microsoft
aslo check the settings for the keyboard for how fast letters are repeated when held down
Can I use an Apple Remote control on Windows-based pc?
I have a Infrared USB dongle installed on my PC, can I? What programms I will need?
You might want to check with Apple because although I think it is for Front Row only I have seen comments before about it working with the video capable iPod which is Mac and PC
You don’t need any additional software.
im building a go kart soon and i want to no if i can have its battery charge through a USB
USB will put out 5 volts at a maximum of 1 amp, or 5 watts. If you can recharge the battery with that small amount of power, then you can. But you will need circuitry to control the voltage and current to the battery.
.
To connect a something USB to the Wii remote
I mean so that you can put a USB device into an adapter which plugs into the Wii remote.
The Wii has USB ports so you would not need an adapter that plugs into the Wii-mote to let you plug in USB devices.
There were all kinds of designs in the works before the Wii was named.
The final design of (then named) Nintendo Revolution was formed in 06 then named to the Wii.
Good luck *
I have a pc with graphic card so i am able to play some cool games, but there are so many games which is difficult to play with keyboard, i have a frontech usb remote but this does not supported by all games, some game uses xbox controller such as lost planet, i want to know is there xbox remote availble for pc or not if yes what woud be the price in India
Yes, there are Xbox 360 controllers for the PC.
You basically get the Xbox 360 controller for the console and then get a USB attachment for it. Then, you will go here and following the instructions to download the drivers for it:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=Gaming
However, if you have Windows 7, you will have to click on the "Support for Windows 7 page" link or you can click here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/windows7/support.mspx
After that, you are done!
I hope this helps!
I bought this computer case:
http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=26851&vpn=EN-PA411411&manufacture=ENLIGHT
However, I can’t get the front USB working, nor the Media Centre Remote IR Sensor. The case came with like literally NO helpful instructions (how to put in a 3.5" drive, and that’s it). I emailed the company that made it, and they don’t reply.
My problem is this:
I have 3 "cables" for the USB, which are:
– two 4-pin
– one 5-pin
I can’t seem to figure out how to configure this so that it works, and the IR sensor is picked up on the computer. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I forgot to mention that the motherboard is: ASUS P5QL Pro. The ASUS motherboard has USB headers that are 4&5 pin together (9-pin). What in the world do I do with the "extra" 4-pin plug-in I have?
I have managed to get the IR Sensor and *ONE* of the front USB ports to work. It seems I was using a "connector block" from ASUS which for some reason either doesn’t work of the USB bus in the case doesn’t like it. The IR Sensor appears to be part of that USB Bus. However, that’s only 1 of the 2 front USB ports. The second port appears to be a separate bus, and that is the one that has only 1 single 4-pin USB connector, with no matching 5-pin to make a full "header".
Hi,
Below is the link to the PDF manual of the Motherboard you have, this clearly provides instructions which front panel cables go where. Download the same and open the PDF file and search for Front Panel.
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P5QL%20PRO
Hope this helps.
PS: There may be some connectors in your cabinet which may or may not get connected to the motherboard as the motherboard may not have specific connection point for them.
Update with results.
Cheers.
Wireless..:)

Hi Locutis,
You need to check the manual for your motherboard as they can guide you where to connect the front panel connectors on the Motherboard.
Update the details of the Motherboard if possible.
Cheers.
Wireless..:)
I have a media center I built with my old pc. I have also a toshiba MCE Remote control, with a USB receiver. I would like to turn on the pc simply with the remote control, like in DVD players, or VCRs.
Any suggestion (maybe need another components, that.s not a problem… Just say what you think would work
the olny thing i can think of is open up ur old pc and take out the startup button cover not the wires. then youd probably have to buy like a hydrolic pump of something small that moves back and forth and put a ir reciever to it
I have many Media Center remotes that I bought for using with my Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. I have since added another HTPC running Vista Home Premium. I’d like to use one of my extra remotes with a IR receiver but I’m not sure where to get one for a reasonable price. I’ve seen some on ebay for around $30 but I don’t want to spend that much. Can I use any USB infrared receiver or do I need one specifically designed for Vista or MCE 2005?
You need one that is specifically designed to pick up the MS MCE remote signals.
