PSX was a Sony digital video recorder with fully integrated PlayStation and PlayStation 2 video game consoles. Since it was designed to be a general-function audiovisual device, it was marketed by the main Sony Corporation and was released only in Japan on December 13, 2003. It was the first Sony product to utilize the XrossMediaBar (XMB).

The system became widely criticized due to a very high price, and customer interest began decreasing.[1] As a result, the PSX was never released outside Japan.

The PSX is a fully functional digital video recorder with RF, S-Video and composite inputs. It is able to tune analog VHF and CATV. It comes with a remote control and can be also linked with a PlayStation Portable to transfer videos and music via USB ports.[2] It also features software for video, photo and audio editing.[3]

The PSX supports PlayStation and PlayStation 2 gaming using PlayStation 2-based hardware, with Emotion Engine, Graphics Synthesizer and the I/O processor. It supports online game compatibility using an internal broadband adapter. Games that utilize the PS2 HDD (for example Final Fantasy XI) are supported as well.[4]

The PSX doesn’t include a controller. A special ceramic-white, USB DualShock 2 was released separately.[5] However, original DualShocks are fully supported by two joystick ports in the back side and memory cards are also supported via port in the front side.[6]

The PSX is also known for its introduction of Sony’s XMB graphical user interface, used later on PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, 2008 BRAVIA model TVs and other Sony devices.

I play on my psp, and with usb connection and Remote joy (remotejoy), psp’s screen is retransmit on my computer and with hypercam i can record it.

3.80 remote play on 3.71M33 UPDATED with HOWTO GUIDE

-Download official FW 3.72 (do not update)
-Download M33_NEWPSARDUMPER
-Open USB Connection and put 3.72 eboot (rename it to UPDATE.PBP) in root of mem stick
-Put PSARDUMPER in Game (3.71 kernal)
-Run Psardumper
-Press Square
-After it’s done dumping, open USB Connection and copy premo_plugin.prx (f0\vsh\module) and premo_plugin.rco (f0\vsh\resource) and paste them somewhere for safe keeping
-You can delete the folder now.
-Open recovery menu on PSP (right bumper and turn on with PSP still connected to PC)
-Go to advanced
-Select Toggle USB (flash0)
A new window should pop up on your PC
-Make sure you have hidden files and system files viewable
-Replace premo_plugin.prx (vsh\module) and premo_plugin.rco (vsh\resource) with the ones you copied
-Select Toggle USB (flash0) to disable
-Restart PSP

Remote play for psp from ps3 – jehanmo2

U need a wireless router to enable remote play…..:D

A video of how to set up remote play for psp…
1) connect the usb cable from the ps3 to the psp..
2)put the psp in USB mode…
3)go to remote play settings on settings on the ps3 nd register device…..
4)the psp should register and it will show the registered devices on the registered devices list..
5)go to remote play on ps3…
6)then on the psp go to remote play and choose private network…then click playstation 3 on the networks..
7)remote play will start
