  • My 30″ Home-Made Multi-Touch Screen

Posted by admin on April 25th, 2010 and filed under infrared usb remote | 3 Comments »

Made using PS3 eye webcam with IR blocking filter removed and a new filter that only allows 850nm IR light through. The projector is an Optoma EX525ST DLP Short Throw Projector and is mounted on a custom black acrylic stand made by my co-worker Casey at SparkFun. I’m also using the LLP method using two 850nm lasers and beam splitters to create a horizontal line just barely above the projection surface. The lasers are powered by some cables I made and are connected to SparkFun’s USB Breadboard Power Supply. The surface is clear 1/4″ acrylic with a large vellum sheet taped to the underside. The software used is Community Core Vision and Processing running Memo’s MSAFluid TUIO test slightly modified to allow for smoother TUIO inputs. Obviously this is an early video and a lot of calibration is required. Also the video is choppy and the multi-touch is less responsive than normal since I was running both webcams off my laptop along with dual monitors. I’ll record a better version soon once I have the rest of the case created.

A real TRUE posibility of a REAL portable 360

Posted by admin on April 10th, 2010 and filed under usb rf remote | 25 Comments »

    Patent pending
I was bored one day, and as always when that happens my mind starts to think up things, and this is my latest creation to bring to the gaming community one step closer to gaming bliss. The ability to run it as a main screen, or second display, battery operated, and roam your home and play off the screen late at night when your 360 sits in the living room, and your snug in bed not ready to give in to sleep to reach that goal. Or to do family game night while your pieces stay out of prying eyes, and off the main screen to bring your family closer together on family night, or be able to play games with your family without the need for 2-3 more 360’s and gold accounts to do so.

I give to you my Idea, and working prototype. Granted the end product will not look so huge and bulky, and hope to have it wireless by using the rear usb port, and a adapter between the main out and this adapters RF unit, so that both screens can be used at the same time. I ATM have it set up for one or the other, I have not found a way to do both at once yet, but then again, this idea of mine happened and had a prototype in under 12 hours time. If I can devote more time to it, Im sure I can get my 360 to run both screens, as mains for now, at the same time.

Hope you like and can see my vision for this, and look for it soon!!!!

LIRC (Linux Infrared remote control) is an open source package that allows users to receive and send infrared signals with a Linux-based computer system.

There is a Microsoft Windows equivalent of LIRC called WinLIRC.

With LIRC and an IR receiver the user can control their computer with almost any infrared remote control (e.g. a TV remote control). The user may for instance control DVD or music playback with their remote control.

One GUI frontend is KDELirc, built on the KDE libraries.

    http://www.thewiidownloadsreview.com/wiidl

This is a pretty cool site I found that teaches you to copy wii games.
It has video instructions to unlock your wii and play copied wii games.

They give you all the software you’ll need to unlock your wii without a mod chip so that you can begin donwloading wii games in minutes. It will not void your warranty either.

Also, on top of being able to copy wii games, you’ll also be able to download and play oldschool video games from n64, gamecube, sega, snes and even atari with all the emulators they have for you to install.

All you will need to copy wii games is your dvd writer, and some blank discs. If you want though, you can play directly from your USB.

They have pretty much everything you’ll need for your wii and are constantly updating. From an auto homebrew installer, to repair guides to cheats and even wii remote hacks for your computer.

All in all, it is a pretty cool site that offers tons of amazing services like how to copy wii games for dirt cheap.
